July 25, 2020 - Knowles lands Top 5 finish at Tri-County Racetrack |
Jake Knowles followed the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals to Tri-County Racetrack (Brasstown, N.C.) on Tuesday evening for the ninth stop of the 12-race miniseries. After failing to lock his spot into the opening night feature via time trials, Knowles posted a second place finish in his B-Main behind Brent Dixon, which positioned him 14th on the starting grid for the A-Main. After a scheduled off day on Wednesday night, Jake traveled to Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tenn.) on Thursday evening for another $3,500-to-win A-Main. Recording a fifth place finish in his B-Main, Knowles earned the 15th-starting position for the feature. Passing five cars in the 35-lap affair, Jake notched a 10th place finish.
For the 11th round of the tour, Knowles was one of 26 cars on hand at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) on Friday evening for the $10,053 top prize. With a tangle in his B-Main dropping him shy of transfer position, Jake was granted a provisional into the A-Main. Rolling off 21st, Knowles was an early retiree from the 53-lap feature on lap 16.
On Saturday evening at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.) for the final round of the tour, Knowles suffered mechanical issues in qualifying that prevented him from making it out for his heat. Starting on the tail for the $10,053-to-win A-Main, Jake completed one lap before calling it a night.
He came home seventh in the final Schaeffer's Southern Nationals point standings.

For the third round of the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals, Jake Knowles headed to Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Monday afternoon for the $3,500-to-win A-Main. Following the 11th fastest time in his qualifying group, Jake secured his spot into the main event with a third place finish in his B-Main. The following night at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.), Knowles timed in seventh fastest in his group before picking up a 10-lap consolation victory. With $3,500 on the line in the feature, Jake passed two cars in the 35-lap affair to register a ninth place outing.

Posting a second place finish in his consolation event behind Steven Roberts, Knowles earned the 13th-starting position for the feature. With $3,500 on the line, Jake made contact with the wall on the third lap that sent him pit side for the remainder of the evening.
On Friday night at Needmore Speedway (Norman Park, Ga.), Knowles locked his spot into the $10,053-to-win A-Main with a third place finish in his B-Main. Breaking into the Top-10, Jake advanced through the field 11 spots in the 53-lapper to place eighth.
For the seventh round on Saturday at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Ga.), Jake followed up the fourth fastest time in his group with a second place finish in his heat behind John Henderson. With $10,053 on the line in the feature, Knowles was an early retiree from the 53-lap affair on lap 20.
On Sunday afternoon at Cochran Motor Speedway (Cochran, Ga.), Knowles posted the fifth fastest time in his group with positioned him 10th on the starting grid for the feature. Running into trouble early, Jake was slammed into by another competitor on the fourth lap that brought a disappointing end to his night.

On Friday afternoon Jake Knowles invaded Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) to kick off the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals. Drawing 35 cars for the first race of 12, Knowles edged his way into the opening night feature with the fourth and final transfer position in his heat. Rolling off 16th, Jake was an early retiree from the 53-lap feature on lap 26. He was credited with a 17th place outing.
For the second round on Saturday evening at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.), Jake timed in seventh fastest in his group before placing eighth in his heat. Friday night found Jake Knowles in action at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.) for the Schaeffer’s Iron-Man Series-sanctioned Firecracker 40. The following night at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) for the Independence 40, Jake timed in 10th fastest in his group before coming in third in his B-Main. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Knowles clawed forward four spots early and was challenging for a Top-10 run when he broke an oil line on lap 25.
