October 12, 2019 - Jake Knowles Sweeps NASCAR Weekend at Talladega
1 Jake Knowles made a clean sweep of the weekend’s Durrence Layne Dirt Late Model Series action during Talladega Short Track’s NASCAR weekend. Pushing his 2019-win tally to eight, Jake won on both Friday and Saturday night in his Knowles Race Parts & Bodies No. 66 Phillips Properties/ Josh Roberts Trucking/ Coosa Heating & Cooling/ Longhorn Chassis Late Model.

“Wow, what can I say about this team right now other than they are giving me an awesome racecar every time that we unload,” Knowles said. “I’ve been staying busy keeping our customer’s cars ready to race, but my crew has been doing a phenomenal job preparing my stuff each week. We had a flawless weekend at Talladega, and I couldn’t be more proud of where we are at with this program right now.”

Jake Knowles continued his pursuit of the 2019 Durrence Layne Dirt Late Model Series championship with a trip to Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama) over the weekend. On Friday night the NASCAR weekend doubleheader came to life at the track known as “The Hornet’s Nest.”

In a field of 36 cars, Jake laid down the fastest lap in time trials, which positioned him on the pole for the main event. Fending off a hard-charging Sam Seawright late in the 40-lapper, Knowles led wire-to-wire to capture his seventh win of the season and a $2,000 payday. Seawright, Brandon Williams, Cruz Skinner, and T.J. Brittain completed the Top-5 finishers.

1Returning on Saturday evening, Knowles locked his spot into the finale with the second-fastest time in his qualifying group behind Brandon Williams. Rolling off fourth for the finale, Jake tracked down and passed polesitter Jadon Frame on lap 43. The Georgia racer went on to record his eighth win of the season, which came over Frame, Oakley Johns, Tyler Wood, and T.J. Brittain. Taking the checkers 3.354 second ahead of Frame, Jake Knowles pocketed $2,500 for his winning performance.

October 5, 2019 - Knowles Scores King of the Crate Opener at North Alabama
1Jake Knowles tallied up his sixth win of the 2019 season on Friday night in his Knowles Race Parts & Bodies No. 66 Phillips Properties/ Josh Roberts Trucking/ Coosa Heating & Cooling/ Longhorn Chassis Late Model. The triumph was worth $2,000 and came at North Alabama Speedway during the opening round of the annual King of the Crates 100 weekend.

“We had a fun weekend at North Alabama Speedway for the King of the Crates 100,” Knowles commented. “On Friday night I got the job done, and on Saturday night thought I had a chance to win again, but Jeremy Shaw was just a little better. Congrats to him on a job well done.

“Now, we head to one of my favorite tracks, Talladega Short Track for two more Durrence Layne Dirt Late Model Series events. We’re focused on consistency right now, so that we can lock up this championship.”

On Friday evening Jake Knowles was one of 34 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Series entries on hand at North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, Alabama) as the two-day King of the Crate 100 came to life. Registering the second-fastest lap in his time trial group, Knowles locked into the fourth-starting position for the opening night feature.

Challenging polesitter Tyler Wood for the lead by lap 20, Jake overtook Wood for the top spot on lap 24 and held off a hard-charging Will Herington late in the race to record his sixth win of the season. Herrington, Christian Hanger, Josh Putnam, and Tyler Wood followed Knowles across the finish line. He earned a $2,000 payday for his winning performance.

The following night the top prize was increased to $5,000 and, Jake laid down the fastest time in his group before cruising to a heat race victory. Earning the third-starting position for the finale, Knowles gained one spot in the 50-lapper to cross the finish line in second behind Jeremy Shaw with Dustin Harris, Christian Hanger, and Jadon Frame trailing them to the checkers.
