April 27, 2019 - Knowles Bags First Win of the Season at TST
1Friday night saw the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Series return to action at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama) for the doubleheader. In a stout field of 48 cars, Knowles registered the second fastest time in his qualifying group behind T.J. Brittain positioning him 4th on the starting grid for the opening night feature. Slipping past polesitter T.J. Brittain lap-18, Jake distanced himself from the field in the remaining 22 circuits to capture his first win of the season and a $2,000 payday. Jadon Frame, John Ownbey, T.J. Brittain, and Cruz Skinner trailed him to the checkers.

1The following night, Jake secured his spot into the $2,500-to-win finale with the third fastest time in his qualifying group. Starting A-Main in 5th, Jake improved three spots in the 50-lapper to place 2nd behind John Ownbey with Jake Rainey, David Kay, and Dylan Knowles completing the Top-5 finishers. (Mike Blevins photo)
