Jake Knowles hit the ground running over the weekend in his Knowles Race Parts & Bodies #66 Brucebilt Performance Rocket Chassis Late Model.
Competing in two states in two days, Knowles claimed a fifth-place finish and second-place finish to show for his efforts.
“Last year we had a miserable start to the year with the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series as we battled a lot of mechanical issues,” Knowles said. “This year to get a fifth-place finish out of the box feels like a win in itself. Then on Saturday night we had another good car at Dixie Speedway. I’ll take a runner-up finish against a legend like Ronnie Johnson any day of the week.”

On Friday evening the team made the short trip to Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia), where he competed in the $2,500 season opener with the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series.

With 22 entries in action, Jake started eighth in the feature before advancing to a fifth-place finish behind Ronnie Johnson, Riley Hickman, Dale Thurman, and Cruz Skinner.

With Saturday’s series event at North Georgia Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia) getting nixed by Mother Nature, the team traveled south to Dixie Speedway (Dixie, Georgia), where they took part in the Steel Head Late Model division. Jake earned the pole position for the feature, but would slip one spot in the finale to register a runner-up finish behind Ronnie Johnson. Joseph Brown, Cruz Skinner, and Randall Powell completed the Top-5 finishers.
