September 30, 2017 - Runner-up Finish in King of Crate 60 at North Alabama
Jake Knowles traveled to North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, Alabama) on Friday night for the two-day NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series sanctioned weekend. Drawing 28 entries for the King of the Crate 60, Knowles followed up the fastest in his group with a heat race victory. Earning the 4th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday evening, Jake worked his way into a podium spot and set his eyes on race-leader Cory Hedgecock as each circuit passed. Challenging Hedgecock in the closing laps, Jake came up short in the 60-lapper to place 2nd behind Hedgecock with Ronnie Johnson, Grant Garrison, and Greg Wilhite rounding out the Top 5.

September 23, 2017 - Knowles Attends Alabama State Championship at EAMS
On Friday night Jake Knowles headed to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Alabama) for the 45th annual Alabama State Championship weekend. With 31 Super Late Models signed in, Knowles timed in fourth fastest in his qualifying group earning him the 7th-starting position for the opening night feature. With $2,500 on the line, Jake was passing for 3rd when he get sideways sending him to the tail. Breaking into the Top 10 in the remaining distance, Knowles reeled in a 6th place finish.

Returning on Saturday night for another $2,500-to-win A-Main, Jake secured his spot into the main event with the third fastest time in his qualifying group. Earning the 6th-starting position for the feature, Knowles was running in 6th until he suffered a blown motor while taking the white flag. He salvaged a 13th place finish.

Closing out the 45th annual Alabama State Championship on Sunday, Jake had already locked his spot into the $4,500-to-win finale with his performances on Friday and Saturday. Slated to start 8th, Jake was offered a ride in Austin Horton’s secondary car after Knowles suffered a blown motor late Saturday evening. Holding his spot for all 45 laps, Jake Knowles registered a 8th place finish.

Jake would like to send a thank you to Austin Horton and his car-owner Woody Wood for the opportunity to run their secondary in the feature on Sunday evening.

September 16, 2017 - Top 5 Finish in Local Show at Boyd's Speedway
Saturday found Jake Knowles in action at Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia) for the regular night of racing. After timing in seventh fastest in a field of 20 Crate Late Models, Jake jumped up three spots in the feature to place 4th behind Ronnie Johnson, Heath Hindman, and Andy Miller with Robby Mason coming in 5th.

September 3, 2017 - Podium Finish With Chevy 525 Series at Dixie Speedway
1Jake Knowles kicked off the Labor Day weekend on Saturday night at Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia) for the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series sanctioned Down in Dixie 30. Laying down the fastest time overall in a field of 23 cars, Knowles earned the pole position for the opening night feature. After leading the first 15 laps, Jake slipped back to 2nd while trying to navigate through lap traffic. Hanging on to a podium finish, Jake Knowles posted a 3rd place spot behind Ronnie Johnson and Michael Page with Rodney Martin and John Ownbey completing the Top 5 finishers. (Kevin Prater photo)

The following night with 24 cars signed in at Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia) for the Hoosier Race Tire South 100, Knowles followed up the sixth fastest time in his group with a 3rd place finish in his heat race. Rolling off 7th for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Jake improved one spot in the 100-lapper to place 6th.

Jake Knowles finished in 2nd in the Chevy point standings after Top 5 finishes determined the tiebreaker between Jake and Austin Smith.
