Jake Knowles returned with the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series on Monday evening for the eighth stop of the tour at Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia). With 27 Super Late Models on hand, Jake recorded the 7th fastest time in his qualifying group before passing two cars in his heat to place 3rd. Earning the 9th-starting position for the feature, Knowles improved four more spots notching a 5th place finish behind Brandon Overton, Craig Vosbergen, Casey Roberts, and Ronnie Johnson. On Saturday night Knowles headed to Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia) for the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series sanctioned program. In a field of 31 cars, Knowles followed up the seventh fastest time in his qualifying group with a 2nd place finish in his B-Main. Rolling off 13th for the feature, Jake was an early retiree from the 40-lapper after pulling on the ninth circuit with a flat-tire.

July 22, 2017 - Podium Spot in Southern Nationals Stop at 411 Motor Speedway |
On Monday night Jakes Knowles made the trip to Tri-County Race Track (Brasstown, North Carolina) for the second round of the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series. Timing in eighth fastest overall in a field of 23 Super Late Models, Knowles earned the 8th-starting position $3,500-to-win A-Main. Returning with the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series, Jake Knowles was one of 29 Super Late Models signed in at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee) on Tuesday night for the $3,500 top prize. Holding his spot in his 8-lap heat race, Knowles recorded a runner-up finish behind Chicky Barton positioning him 12th on the starting grid for the feature. Breaking into a podium spot, Jake Knowles charged through the field nine positions notching a 3rd place finish behind Donald McIntosh and Vic Hill with David Doherty and Jason Cardwell completing the Top 5 finishers. Following an off day on Wednesday, Jake Knowles was back with the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series on Thursday night for the fourth stop of the tour at Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Georgia). Following the fifth fastest time in his group, Knowles secured his spot into the $3,500-to-win A-Main with a 3rd place finish in his heat race. Wheeling his way into the Top 10, Jake passed seven cars in the 35-lap affair to place 8th.
Saturday night brought Knowles to Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia) for the regular night of racing. Timing in 9th fastest in qualifying, Jake earned the 9th-starting position for the $2,000-to-win A-Main. Advancing through the field six positions, Jake Knowles reeled in a 3rd place finish behind Michael Page and Jason Croft with Shawn Chastain and Will Roland completing the Top 5 finishers.
Sunday night’s Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series sanctioned program at Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia) was postponed to August 20th by Mother Nature.

July 3, 2017 - Knowles Picks up First Win of the Season at East Alabama Motor Speedway |
After Mother Nature postponed the opening night of the Salute to America Nationals, Jake Knowles headed to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Alabama) on Sunday for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series sanctioned program. Failing to lock his spot into the feature via qualifying with the 14th fastest time, Knowles secured his way into the show with a B-Main victory from the 6th-starting position. Rolling off 12th for the A-Main, Jake paced his way into a podium spot by lap 35. Taking advantage of a late-race restart, Jake took control of the lead on lap 39 and outran the field in the remaining 11 circuits picking up his first win of the season and a $2,500 payday. Chase Edge, Dylan Knowles, Montana Dudley, and Jordy Nipper completed the Top 5 finishers.
On Monday night Knowles stopped at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama) for the $2,000 top prize. With a stout field of 38 Crate Late Models on hand, Jake posted the fifth fastest time in qualifying locking him into the 10th-starting spot for the feature. Bringing home a podium finish, Jake Knowles advanced through the field eight positions notching a runner-up finish behind Cory Hedgecock with Brad Berry, Austin Horton, and Jimmy Elliott rounding out the Top 5.
Tuesday’s Southern Nationals Bonus Series event at North Georgia Speedway (Chatsworth, Georgia) was postponed due to persistent rain in the area.
